Atrium, Cleveland Clinic, MemorialCare join digital health startup Xealth's Series A

Seattle-based digital health startup Xealth announced the close of its $14 million Series A financing round on June 20, following a $3 million infusion from Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health, Cleveland Clinic and Long Beach, Calif.-based MemorialCare Innovation Fund.

Previously announced health system investors in the round include University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin network and Providence Ventures (Xealth spun out of Providence St. Joseph Health in 2017). McKesson Ventures, Novartis, Philips, ResMed and Threshold Ventures also participated.

Xealth's platform allows clinicians to prescribe and monitor digital health content, apps, devices and other services within their existing EHR system, then share that information directly with patients through a health system's patient portal. The Xealth platform also streamlines the process of finding and onboarding new digital care vendors providing educational content, transportation, meal delivery, product recommendations and more.

"Xealth works with stakeholders across all areas of healthcare, including providers, payers, pharma, devices and supply chain," Xealth CEO Mike McSherry said in a statement. "This gives Xealth insight and perspective that advances digital health strategies in a way that optimizes outcomes and assists physician workflows. By investing in Xealth and working with the company to advance their own digital health strategies, Atrium Health, Cleveland Clinic and MemorialCare are demonstrating their commitment to the patient experience."
